The team at Zambezi are ready to welcome you to a swimming lesson full of inspiration, encouragement and lots of fun – guaranteed to give amazing results.
Our coaches are carefully selected for their experience, passion and dedication to teaching. We deliver specialist classes for babies, children and adults, plus inclusive lessons for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.
Every session follows a specially tailored scheme of work. Our highly qualified teachers are very interactive and are in the water when needed to help with confidence and stroke technique.
Swimming is more than just a sport – it is a life skill. That is why we keep class sizes small, through private sessions, one-to-two tuition or small group classes where we maximise teaching time.
Progress is seen very quickly and everyone who learns with Zambezi develops a love for the water. No armbands or life jackets are used – we focus on overarm recovery and correct breathing technique.
We can’t wait to welcome you to your first swimming lesson with Zambezi! Whether this is your first ever swimming lesson or you’re coming as a more experienced swimmer, we look forward to starting your Zambezi adventure.
Swimming is more than just an activity – it’s a skill you’ll be giving your child for life. Even more than that, you’re giving them the knowledge and confidence that may one day save their life.
Before your first lesson, please check you have everything below packed and ready.
This gives you time to park, find the pool and get changed. At the start of your session, introduce yourself to a member of the Zambezi team – they’ll welcome you and show you which class your child will be in.
Once your child is settled, make your way to the viewing area (where available) and let our team work their magic. Some children find it daunting at first and it can take a couple of weeks to settle in – rest assured our fantastic teachers will nurture, encourage and inspire your child to enjoy the water.
Head back onto poolside (please wear the blue overshoes or remove outdoor footwear), collect your child and go to the changing rooms to get changed.
Log in to your parent home portal to see the Swim England stage your child is working towards and each assessment criterion, updated throughout their lessons. You’ll also get emails when your child earns a badge, reminders when your block of sessions is ending, and news from Zambezi Sports School through the year.
All adults and children aged 8+ should use their appropriate changing room. If your child is over 8 but you’d still like to help them get changed, individual changing cubicles or the accessible toilets can be used.
