Covid-19 Update 11/05/2020

We would like to first of all thank everyone for your messages of support that we have received since having to temporarily stop providing our sports tuition due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are pleased to inform you that all of our zambezi team are fit and well and we hope all of our zambezi members are safe and healthy.

Following the government announcement on the 10th May 2020 we are able to set a ‘guide’ below of how we hope to slowly restart our lessons whilst maintaining our team and customers safety and following the new guidance. This of course is subject to the phased plan that has been detailed by Boris Johnson.

Phase 1

Eligibility

1-      Members must be in Reception or above at school

2-      Have credits owed on their account due to missed lessons last term

We are pleased to be able to offer as of Wednesday 13th May the option of 1-1 lessons at Pittsfield, High Road, Dartford, DA2 7EG.

One private lesson is the equivalent of two group class lessons.

The lesson at Pittsfield will include all of the below to ensure the safest environment for all users

Safety implementations for Covid-19

1)      Teaching will be from poolside to ensure the 2m distance is maintained throughout the lesson

2)      Any equipment used will only be used per person for your lesson and will all be disinfected overnight before any re-use (We have enough noodles and floats to ensure that we will not have to use any equipment more than once in the day)

3)      We will be taking the temperature of anyone entering the site and if anyone displays a temperature (37.8 degrees or above) they will not be able to enter the site. The teachers temperature will also be taken every morning

4)      The site will have the following adaptations-

-          Only one spectator is allowed per swimmer

-          Parking will be out on the road

-          All gates and doors will be left open – minimising contact with surfaces

-          A one way system will be in place – directed via arrows and signs

-          A cleaning station to include Gloves, disinfectant, and hand sanitiser

-          Separate changing areas for before and after the lessons – which we will request that you wipe down before and after use. These will also be continually inspected and cleaned throughout the day.

-          Spectating will be from outside (no-one will be permitted in the poolside environment except the swimmer and teacher)

If you do experience any symptoms please do not attend your scheduled lesson, please call us to advise and credits will remain on your account.

We understand that everyone has different circumstances and therefore this first phase may not be applicable for you. We would like to reassure everyone that your credits will remain on your account if not used at Pittsfield  further opportunities to redeem your credit will be available at phase 2.

Phased plans for other locations will follow in the coming weeks, we envisage this not to be before the 1st June

To book your lesson please call us on 07891 068 173, we envisage the phone to be busy over the coming week, if we are unable to answer please leave us a voicemail detailing your child’s name and contact number and a member of the team will get back to you.

Coronovirus Update – 31/03/2020

Following recent queries we have put together  Frequently Asked Questions regarding re-bookings and missed sessions last term-

What will happen to my sessions that had to be cancelled last term?

The missed lessons of this term will be allocated as a credit on your Zambezi account to be used for any zambezi activities. This will include, replacement swimming sessions, intensive swimming holiday courses, holiday camps and private tuition. These will not be able to be transferred to the new swim course or received as a cash refund.

What will happen to my Easter Sports Camp or Crash Course Booking?

We will be offering either your camp or crash course booking to be able to be rescheduled to our summer camps or a full refund can be received when our office reopens which is currently planned to be Monday 20th April 2020.

We are keen to renew for the next term but, depending on when it may start, we may not be able to complete the full course due to timings and the school day from September. We don't want to pay now and lose money for something which may be not be able to do?

If you rebook your space for next term a full 12 week term will be run when lessons are able to be restarted.

If your child will need to change to an after school or weekend session due to starting school in September (if this impacted the term booking) you would be given a priority for an after school or weekend space and if this was not possible you would be given a full refund for the remaining weeks of term.

Is the deadline of the 5th April able to be extended?

The deadline of the 5th April firmly guarantees your child’s space for when the new term is able to restart.

However we totally understand customers may be hesitant to book without being clear on the term dates or unable to currently book due to personal changes with work. We will therefore be open for ONE priority day for all current swimmers before we open bookings to any new members prior to the lessons restarting. Please note this day may not be able to be given with much forewarning and will be following the government changing the current advice. The advertised re-opening of bookings will be put on our website, facebook and twitter.

Our contact number to call once we are able to re-open to bookings will be 07891 068 173.

The office is currently closed to calls however emails are being monitored at info@zambezisportsschool.co.uk

Thank you for your continued support in this difficult time, keep safe
